Design by Steven Gambrel | Photography by Simon Upton | as seen in Elle Decor Feb/Mar 2011 | In the master bedroom, the custom-made headboard is upholstered in a Bergamo fabric, the bench is antique, and the French chandelier dates from the 1920s; the lamps are by Christopher Spitzmiller, and the curtains are of a Nancy Corzine silk
LOVE this idea! Can't wait to find someone else's junk, and create a fabulous one of a kind Headboard! I love how the look is imperfect and has flaws and age! The best part is, when you are tired of this look, it is as simple as taking it down and creating a whole new look.....without having to buy an entire new bed! Definately going to check out Craigslist for discarded shutters!!!
LOVE the muted color, but dramatic and lavish headboard, with that wonderfully glorious nailhead bed chest with what looks like white leather. What a romantic old hollywood feel room!
monochromatic creams make this a very soothing room. I would only suggest this for a gueat room though, unless you are super clean and don't really live in your master suite.
Cute for guest room, have been thinking about making my own headboard....would be so hard...some wood, pillow stuffing or even microfiber bed cover and cut up(could make and sell some), nail/staple gun...a little work on the sewing machine, and some hand stitch buttons on
