Male Cardinal. I saw in Nashville TN winter 2013-2014 (not my picture). My cats favorite bird to watch through the window. He gets so excited and talks to them. I doubt he'd know what to do if he ever caught one (not much danger of that since he is an indoor cat and makes so much noise talking to the birds he sees).
The winter wreath that I made for my Dad's door at his place. I could not find the actual pine cones I wanted from the pin but this was a premade pine cone wreath from Hobby Lobby that I spray painted white added the cardinals, berries, and ice branches. As usual last minute! It has been through a lot and now I have to figure out what wreath I will do for Easter/spring.
A pair of cardinals provide a brilliant contrast to the winter snow in the Derk Hansen wildlife print Winter's Song. Cardinals do not migrate and do not molt, so they provide that bright cheerful color.
