Let's face it, it's happened to the best of us. Wet swimsuits, winter clothes, or even as simple as getting busy and forgetting to toss a load of wash into the dryer. The next thing you know, your clothes or towels developed a nasty smelling odor that just lingers. Mildew, moldy smelling towels are the WORST, and we have a solution!
How To Remove Mildew Smell From Towels Wash your load of towels in the hottest water possible and add 1 cup of white vinegar to the load. Do not use detergent or bleach, just hot water and vinegar. Then a second time with detergent and wash as normal.
TOWELS. Remove Mildew Smell from Towels - wash with hottest water and 1 or 2 cups white vinegar OR ammonia (no detergent or fabric softener). If that didn't do it, wash again immediately with laundry soap or 1/2 cup of baking soda. (Again, hot water and no fabric softener). Dry in dryer on hot setting until thoroughly dry. May have to soak in ammonia over night if this doesn't work.
