1970 Northrop M2-F3. Aircraft have been built without tails, without engines, and without fuselages. This Northrop M2-F3 is an example of an aircraft built without wings. It was part of the American Air Force and N.A.S.A's experiments into "lifting bodies", where the lift needed to fly was provided by the aircraft's fuselage itself.
SR-71 Blackbird - high speed turn.... During reconnaissance missions the SR-71 operated at high speeds and altitudes to allow it to outrace threats. If a surface-to-air missile launch was detected, the standard evasive action was simply to accelerate and outfly the missile.
