Water, jar, dish soap= tornado in a jar. Pinner: Used a baby food jar and this didn't really work. Used a prego jar and filled with water to about an inch from the top and added a couple drops of dish soap. Fun to see the Tornado.
Fireworks in a glass! Such a cool & inexpensive Science Experiment for the kids!, need to be mindful of your oil/ water/food coloring ratio. Ours was too heavy the first time and turned the water black in about 2 seconds
Balloon Rockets - I've done this in several science camps I've conducted. Kids have fun with it. But, when the balloon deflates it may fall off the straw because it's surface area changes - another good thing to show and explain to kids.
~ glow stick xylophone ~put the glow sticks in cups of water and an aura comes off in the dark, when you tap them ~ probably the coolest thing ever ~ this would be a fun activity for our first grade SOUND unit ~
