fountain idea: No directions but just terra cotta pots and saucers set up, and a small fountain pump set up in the bottom big pot. Tubing would run up to the top pot.

Mood improvement with DIY water fountain - You needn't spend a fortune on an expensive, large, bulky water fountain in order to obtain the benefits of moving water.  A pretty flower pot, some sealant, a small submersible pump, a small bag of marbles-and you would have all you need to create a water feature.

Painted wood floor: fill in any large gouges or scrapes, and sand the entire floor lightly. you can use nearly any paint on the floor, but if you're concerned about it rubbing off with traffic, talk to the people in the paint store/department. you can also get clear acrylic sealer to paint over the floor once it's dried and once cured, it'll protect the paint job.
