    Awesome Classroom Management!!!

#Activity for making #kids responsible and this is a good way to do it. The things they missed are all in one place. It is up to them to get their materials. #teachers #teaching #classroom #ideas #activities #learning #fun #kids #children http://studentloanslegalhelp.com/forgiveness/

good idea on how to handle absent students

  • Elizabeth Johnston

This is a great idea. The things they missed are all in one place. It is up to them to get their materials. This teacher has a lot of great classroom organization ideas.

  • Visually Literate Teacher

This helps both the student and teacher stay organized. When a student is absent, they will know to check the absent bin for any handouts they may have missed. It could also be used to turn in the absent work once it has been completed. - Angela Agliato

Absent Bin…an easy way to make students responsible for getting make-up work. Great idea!  Any extra copies go to the “extra copies” bin by the door.  This might make for a more independent classroom though!

This "I'm done..." board is a great way to remind students of their choices once they have completed the current activity. By having this posted as a bulletin board or poster within the room, students would have a visual reminder of the acceptable options they have while awaiting transition to the next activity. This procedure would help maintain order as well as keep faster students busy.

Cool Bulletin Board idea to "spotlight" a student or famous person. I would do both. Maybe every week a different actor, playwright, designer, etc to research to extra credit or a weekly report, and every now and then a student, to make them feel special having been up on the same wall as a big name.

Leave it on a day that you don't tell your students you will be absent. Students would love this!! Perfect for the emergency sub plans!

GREAT IDEA! Rhythms? Solfa? Dictation? Composing? I like it for them singing the degrees that happen to come up ... Who can get it right... or CLOSE ..

Place value…there's no freebies here, but this is a GREAT way to help older students who are having a problem understanding place value!

Classroom Management 2- I started trying something similar to this a couple months ago. I started having students fill out a Friday exit sheet. This way seems much faster and easier. Something to think about...

Six Word Memoir - Use as beginning of the year get-to-know-you activity & put on classroom community bulletin board for display. Update throughout the school year with new ones as we grow.
