My mother read most of these books to me when I was a child. Loved all the Harry the Dirty Dog books. I cried over The Little House. Stone Soup is classic, as well as Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. And loved the House on 88th Street (Lyle, Lyle Crocodile). But Alexander and his Horrible etc.Day was the perfect book. Yes, we all have bad days sometimes. Thanks mom, for reading to me!
A long time ago, Starbucks was selling this book and I sat down with coffee to flip through it to see if it was worth buying... Three hours later I'd read the whole thing...without buying. Whoops. So good! [Turned into a TV movie in 1999--from Wikipedia]
