Jazz and classical musician Wynton Learson Marsalis was born on October 18, 1961, in New Orleans Louisiana. Marsalis received his first trumpet at the age of 6, and has been deemed a prolific musician ever since.
The Big Bopper, (October 24, 1930 – February 3, 1959) was an American disc jockey, singer, and songwriter and early rock and roll star. He is best known for his recording of "Chantilly Lace." On February 3, 1959, on what has become known as The Day the Music Died, Richardson was killed in a small-plane crash leaving their concert at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa, along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. jj
