I am becoming obsessed by the doodling. I wish that I had this talent. Maybe it can be developed with practice? Screw the carpal and ulnar tunnel issues....let's draw!! by ~lindzb on deviantART

In college, an art professor told us that you can teach anyone drawing skills, technique, color theory, and design. Essentially, anyone can draw. It's what you create that makes you an artist. So, the answer to your question is YES, drawing skills are developed. Using those skills creatively is art. In my experience, most freehand drawing is about seeing the shapes that compose an object.

Love it, reminds me of zentangle which I'm going to start doing as a pass time during recovery of an orthopedic surgery!

I enjoy this design because it reminds me of my recent travels to Turkey. I have a feeling my board is going to be heavily influenced by the time I spent there.. Or at least I'll experiment with Eastern Europe/ west Asian designs...

Alyn Carlson, ink and watercolor pencils on moleskin. Love the colors and carefree flow of the lines, very floral/botanical. She has several beautiful pieces on her Flickr page.

Oh man -- I would love to batik my comforter with something like THIS but I'm pretty sure I'd screw it up!

Beautiful Zentangle print with indian henna designs. I think a henna design tattoo draped over my shoulder would be gorgeous.
