Possible book club read. Another pinner said...Year of Wonders, by Geraldine Brooks. You feel like you are living it. The main character is a self-taught midwife during the plague...one of the best books I've read the last few years. I plan to read more of this author's books.
Excellent. Life is not pretty -- even seemingly pretty lives. Story of life on a southern Virginia plantation in the late 1700's/early 1800's. Once you meet the characters, you don't ever want to leave them. Read this book.
