How to Make an Outdoor Water Garden Use easy-care water plants to make miniature fountains for small outdoor areas. (I love water gardens, but standing water = mosquitoes, so I'm conflicted. Maybe if there were frogs or fish. But I have cats. And children. So I'm conflicted.)

Indoor Tulips . . . Step 1 - Fill a glass container about 1/3 of the way with glass marbles or decorative rocks... Step 2 - Set the tulip bulb on top of the marbles or stones; pointed end UP. Add a few more marbles or rocks so that the tulip bulb is surrounded but not covered (think support). . .Step 3 - Pour fresh water into the container. The water shouldn't touch the bulb, but it should be very close, so that the roots will grow in and vola tulips inside! image courtesy of Jan Timmons.

    Beautiful

Very smart! Rinse veggies right in the garden and then re-use the water on the plants. Plastic bucket and small laundry basket/colander from Dollar Tree would do nicely.
