All the more reason why our lives as Catholic individuals and families must be oriented and lived in the liturgy. It is there that we encounter God and His salvation of us, and it is the Eucharist that allows us to live the life of God. The way we talk to our kids needs to be rooted in that, so that the inner voice that they hear loudest is God's, not the culture's. In its posturing narcissism, the voice of the culture is aggressive anxiety and insecurity, and a lack of substance.
