his week we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, an observation of all things Irish. What’s that got to do with me, you might wonder. Obviously, capybaras are not Irish; we are from South America. My owner isn’t Irish either, she’s half Greek by way of Panama and the other half is some German-English mix. But the actual Irish, and those of Irish descent, make this ridiculous claim that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, and according to my owner, that everyone extends to me.
Irish capybara!!! YES!!!

archiemcphee: We don’t know what store employs costumed guinea pigs riding costume capybaras and sells their plush equivalents, but we’re damn well going to try to find out and then we’re going to shop there for every single thing we need. P.S. - That capybara is wearing spats. Spats! That’s one awesomely stylish rodent. [via BuzzFeed]

They don't have buses in nature, so these monkeys decided to take things in their own hands ;) capybara and 4 monkeys
Squirrel monkeys in a Japanese zoo have started riding Capybara, which can weigh up to 65 Kg. The South American rodents are closely related to agouti, chinchillas, coypu, and (as you may have guessed) guinea pigs.

To the Catholic church, capybaras are designated as “fish” so they can be eaten during Lent. I’d rather pet them than eat them.
