+ Rutilated Quartz | Rutilated quartz is quartz stone with rutile enclosures. Rutile is a mineral that is made up mostly of titanium dioxide, or TiO2. As a mineral, rutile is very high on the refractive index and disperses more than almost any other mineral.

Amazonite. One of my very favorite minerals! Lots of this mined in Colorado, around Teller and Park Counties.

This looks magical. And, yeah, it felt REALLY weird using the word "magical" to describe a rock.

"Spring grew into summer, and the rhythm of my life now included Nell. I learned that her secret thyme and mint beds were deep in the woods, out by the chuckling stream that disappeared underground. She gathered plants she needed every day, and she was as a child who gathers flowers in May." -- from the novel SINFUL FOLK

I would love to eventually fill up a type case such as this with specimens of a lot of pretty mineral and gemstone specimens. (If anyone knows of good places to obtain either of these, please let me know!) :)
