Instead of white elephant gifts - I LOVE this: Here's how it works: Each person brings their favorite thing (anything you like.. your favorite lip gloss, favorite kitchen tool, favorite gift wrapping supply, a gift card for your favorite frozen yogurt, etc.). It can't cost more than $6, and each person brings five of the same thing. When you arrive at the party, you write your name on five slips of paper and throw them in a big bowl. The bowl is passed around, and each person takes five names (making sure you don't pick your own.. or two of the same name). One at a time each person introduces their favorite thing and then reads the five names they picked from the bowl, passing out their gift to those five guests. After everyone at the party has presented their favorite thing, each person should end up with five gifts to take home. It's always interesting to see what people choose.

How to throw a "Favorite Things Party"! Each guest brings five of their favorite item: lip gloss, herb plant, journal book, anything (under six dollars!). Each guest draws 5 names from a hat and takes those folks' favorite items home in a gift bag!

A favorite things party. This blogger goes to two a year. One in spring; one in winter. Favorite thing cannot cost more than $6; each person brings five of their favorite things. Everyone puts their name in a bowl 5 times. Each person draws 5 names. Then they sit around introducing their favorite things to the group and gifts it to the people whose names were drawn. At this party she took basil and a little booklet of her favorite recipes using the herb. Cute!

Favorite Things Party Idea- "Each person brings their favorite thing (your favorite lip gloss, favorite kitchen tool, favorite gift wrapping supply, a gift card, etc.)." Each guest buys and brings 5 of the same things that costs less than $6. Then each person picks 5 names out of a bowl & gives the favorite things to them. Each guest will end up with 5 new things to take home. Fun get together idea for family & friends. It would be a nice girls night out party idea as well. :)
