How to Make Puff Pastry Jalapeno Poppers Ingredients 12 jalapenos, halved and seeds removed 1 box puff pastry (2 sheets) 8 ounces cream cheese ½ cup bacon pieces 1 cup cheddar, shredded 4 cloves garlic 1 egg Olive oil Instructions Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Drizzle garlic cloves with olive oil and wrap in aluminum foil. Roast in oven for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, unfold thawed pastry sheet and roll into a 9×12 inch rectangle. Slice each sheet into twelve 3×3 inch squares, making for a total of 24 squares with both sheets. In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, bacon, cheddar, and garlic. Spoon cream cheese filling into jalapeno halves. Wrap pastry squares around stuffed jalapenos and arrange on a baking sheet. Whisk together egg and 3 tablespoons water. Brush egg mixture over poppers. (Top with additional cheddar, if you like.) Bake for 20 minutes.

Homemade Cream Cheese After making a great batch of yummy homemade yogurt in a slow cooker, take about 2 cups of yogurt and place in a colander lined with cheese cloth. 2. Let this drain for about 30 min. At this point you have Greek yogurt. Scrape the bottom of the cheese cloth to get up the curd on the bottom and mix it until it is smooth. 3. Leave the cheese cloth lined colander with the yogurt inside preferably in the fridge for about 8 – 12 hours.

Apple Pie Breakfast - Throw all of the ingredients into the slow cooker the night before (Christmas Eve perhaps?) and wake up the next morning to a healthy, nutritious, homemade breakfast! Steel cut oats are one of my favourite breakfast foods. Once cooked, this recipe keeps very well in the fridge for a couple of days. My husband and I usually eat for three mornings in a row when I make this recipe. Ingredients - 1 cup of steel cut oats* - 3 diced apples (I use Gala) - 1 cup apple juice (I use Oasis) - 3 cups water - 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional) Directions - Slow Cooker For Best Results: Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and cook for 2-4 hours on high or 4-6 hours on low until it reaches the consistency that you like. Be sure to stir every hour or so. * You can also cook longer without stirring, but you have to add more water liquid and it does come out a bit mushier. Add an extra cup of liquid for 7-8 hours in the slow cooker. * It must be steel cut oats when cooked in the slow cooker, as regular oats get very soggy when cooked this way. You can find steel cut oats in your local grocery store (sometimes they are called "irish oats" or "pinhead oats"). If you would really rather use rolled oats, be sure to use the stovetop method below and adjust your liquid/cooking time accordingly. Directions - Stovetop Method A few people have asked me about a stovetop method since not everybody has a slow cooker, and let's face it, sometimes we don't know what we want for breakfast until the morning of. Below is a stove top method and it tastes similar, but I still prefer the slow cooker version better (the oats become softer the longer they cook). Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 30 minutes, or until it reaches the consistency that you like.

Hashbrowns and Eggs Muffin Cups RECIPE: take a bag (24oz) of thawed hash browns, mix in 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper, 2 tbs oil and about 1/3 c shredded cheddar cheese. Put then in a well greased muffin tin, and make a well in the center. Bake at 425°F for 15-18 minutes, cover with foil if the edges appear to be getting too brown. They should look kinda like this when they are ready. Now, lower the oven to 350°F. Crack a medium egg into each “nest” and top with bacon bits, cheese and parsley flakes. Bake for about 13-16 minutes. Gentle slide a knife along the edges, and gently pull up with a fork. you could also fill these with beaten eggs and a bit of spinach…. that was my afterthought. Hmmm…maybe i will make that tomorrow.

Breakfast cup cake 1 20 ounce package pre-shredded hash brown-style potatoes2 large eggs, lightly beaten4 tablespoons flour1 small sweet onion, coarsely grated2 thick slices deli ham, chopped into small bits (about 1 cup)1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheeseSalt and freshly ground black pepper to taste1 dozen eggs, scrambled* chives for garnishPreheat the oven to 400 degrees F., and lightly spray a 12-cup muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray. Mix the first eight ingredients together in a large bowl. Spoon potato mixture into each prepared muffin cup until about 1/3 full. Gently press the potato mixture down in the middle and up the sides of each cup. Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. If the nests have puffed up too much in the center, scoop out a little with a teaspoon. Spoon a few tablespoons of scramble eggs into each nest and top with chives.
