Good idea for social studies. My first graders are having trouble grasping that we do not live in the State of Chicago, this would be a great way to make the distinction. Could also bring in the concept of house vs. apartment vs. duplex, depending on where the kids live.

Kid-made flip book that helps them understand geography, where they live, and how their community fits into our wide wide world, from Kid World Citizen. To take the activity further, add my street (with address) after my city. Then, a picture of themselves after my house (ME).

I will be using these for our American History this year!! I was looking for a "1 page report" type page and this fits the bill!!

Students draw a tree (teacher draws an example on the board) and label each branch with the 3 branches on the government. The "leaves" are divided into three sections for each branch and students give one example in each section of leaves. (This activity can be done with the flower bouquet activity).

Teaching kids to pray - Would be cute to put this on gloves and then give one glove to each child to wear as a reminder for how/what to pray.

This would be a good way to organize Social Studies research for projects! Given to partners or small groups and have the class be the teachers! Love letting them be the teacher.
