MWD Lucky survived 5 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, tracking bombs and insurgents.During his time stateside, he provided protection for presidential, vice presidential and congressional visits. He received a Hometown Heroes award from the American Red Cross in 2010. Everyone loved his goofy smile and unusual  (for a Belgian Malinois) floppy ears.He won all his battles except one. Lucky died of cancer in 2011. We are putting a bronze monument at Fairchild AFB to honor Lucky.

U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Adam Leigh Cann, 23 of Davie, Florida, was killed in action on January 5, 2006 by a suicide bomb attack in Ramadi, Iraq. Sgt. Cann and his bomb-sniffing dog, Bruno were working security and crowd control at an Iraqi police recruiting  center. Bruno alerted on a suspected target in the crowd. Sgt. Cann confronted a male suspect & discovered he was wearing a vest of explosives. Sgt. Cann threw himself into the terrorist as he detonated the vest. Check our full story.
