    In the 1930's women often painted just the center of the nail, leaving the moon & tip bare. Filling in the whole nail with color was considered an extreme look. Nice girls didn’t do it! A whitening pencil was used on the back of the nail tip as well.

1930's manicure on a vintage Cutex nail polish ad.

1930s. I got the same idea of the bouquet on the right from an old photo, for my wedding. Such a neat idea that you don't see much of today.
