Quilt Along Week 7 How to Bind a Quilt @Donna Maywald Red Barn Co.: I must apologize in advance. You are about to encounter an obnoxious number of photos. Bear with me as I'm about to cover trimming and squaring up your quilt, making the binding, sewing the binding on the front of your quilt, and hand sewing it onto the back.

Binding - Part 2 .. Here's a step by step tutorial, including hand stitching. Aunt Mag rarely hand stitches (story) - BUT, it is a beautiful finish!

hand pieced and quilted hexagons (by nanaCompany)

The quilt was pieced. If you try this on your own, make sure not to sew the strips of fabric together in a rectangular shape, otherwise you will have a lot of waste. Sew them together offset, like steps. Keep in mind that you’ll need the stepped strip sets (say that ten times fast!) going in two different directions to make this pattern.

~ these colors are lovely together ~ it's an easy quilt to make ~ but the important thing about this quilt is the colors ~

Just a photo. Pinning this for the idea. I love the puffed hearts and the yo-yo appliques. A very neat quilt. :-)
