Military dogs have served, suffered, and died along with so many of our brave men and women in uniform. LIKE if you agree that these brave animals deserve the Working Dog Teams National Monument that is going to be dedicated to them in San Antonio, Texas this new year!

I cried when I saw this photo "Many people remember a fallen soldier as a person in uniform. Sometimes that soldier is the four legged friend who saved your life by being a bomb-sniffing dog and finding the IED and warns you about it before it explodes. This is a sad but beautiful picture of pure respect for 2 fallen heroes." Beautiful dogs.

The Marines and Afghan Uniformed Policeman were struck by a suicide bomber using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device while on a patrol.

Lance Cpl. William "Billy" H. Crouse IV and his bomb-sniffing dog Cane were hit by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Afghanistan. While being lifted into the medevac the wounded handler had the emotional wherewithal to insist the soldiers around him to save his dog. "'Get Cane in the Blackhawk!' Crouse cried out before losing consciousness." Apparently, those were his last words. Neither Crouse nor Cane survived. Just absolutely HEART-BREAKING.
