Colors up later than other Maples, extending the fall color show. Its name of October Glory is earned by the lateness of its color show. Leaves stay lustrous and dark green well into fall, then turn a subdued maroon before assuming their brilliant red and orange hues in October and November, when other trees are ending their fall display. And spring color is no slouch, either, for the flower clusters are fiery red and make quite a statement when little else is showing color.
