Mrs. Lee's Kindergarten: Rainbow System - positive behavior management

  • Alannah Varga

Add rainbow colors each time a child is caught being good. At the end of the week if the child earns all the colors, they get a prize. Great for PBIS positive reinforcement. Cute behavior management idea

Positive Behavior Chart - students add a rainbow piece for good/ positive behavior rather than for negative/bad behavior! like the idea but wouldn't do a rainbow!

  • Stefanie Mills

Interesting idea - "If a child is caught going the extra mile for good behavior, he/she can earn a piece for their rainbow. At the end of the week, if the rainbow is complete, your child will get to choose a prize from the treasure box." @Tanja Hodge

Everyone has those few students in their room who require a little bit more than the regular classroom management strategies. These students need more targeted and frequent positive feedback. That's where my behavior learning targets come in. From over 15 years of teaching experience I have created behavior targets of behaviors we as teachers need to target in order for students to be successful in their learning.

A behavior chart that focuses on positive and negative behaviors! All student behavior clips start everyday at Ready To Learn! When students are caught being good, or doing what they are supposed to have them move their behavior clip up to Good Job! Great Job! or Awesome! When students are not making such good choices have them move their behavior clip down to Warning! (think about it), Reflection Time! (10 minutes lost), or Stop! (20 minutes lost).
