Back in the day gorgeous post offices like this one in Mexico City were common place. Many of these ornate post offices are still around though even if they're not operational. I love visiting them and imaging myself waiting in line to mail letters across the miles to those I love. Whenever I visit new countries I pick up local postcards (the best are the ones from tiny stores that have vintage postcards collecting dust) and mail a few home (one to myself one to my dad and one to my mom).
