      ADG: Great website of service ideas for kids. I love the idea to collect travel size toiletries to have the girls put into baggies for a homeless shelter, or have them write letters and draw pictures for children at a childrens hospital. Service activities Activity Day Girls can actually do in an hour!

    Good Service Project ~ Socks of Love ~ Fill one sock with necessities (toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth soap, comb, etc...) - also don't forget to include the other sock. Then donate "Socks of Love" to homeless shelters or send to troops overseas.

    Make Microwavable Heating Pads - to give to every member in an assisted living home. This is community service--make it a Take Action project by a) creating a "how to" handout and giving copies to volunteer organizations that help the elderly; b) doing a community assessment to find other organizations that could use donations (faith-based orgs with a ministry for seniors, hospitals, clinics, etc) or c) creating a new group of volunteers who commit to making these year-round.
