This recipe for traditional Polish cheesecake or sernik (SEHRR-neek) has a sweet pastry crust and a quark or farmers cheese filling, known as twaróg (TVAH-rroog). If you can't find dry curd cheese, you might want to make your own farmers cheese from scratch.
Tried and true... Breakfast Casserole with Potatoes, Ham, Eggs and Cheese...but I used turkey sausage (cook first), you can thaw potatoes in 9x13 with paper towels under and on top, in Microwave for 15 min. This shortened cooking time by a little. Yum, will for sure make again.
Nalewki (Polish liqueurs) are alcoholic extracts from fruit, spices, flowers or herbs. Usually nalewki contain 40-45 per cent alcohol just like vodka does. Unlike ordinary liqueurs, nalewki are usually aged. Their proper names are usually derived from the main ingredient or the traditional place of manufacture. Fruit liqueurs are most popular (morello cherry, apricot, blackberries and quince are important examples). Honey liqueurs are also popular.
