To keep dust from settling on furniture, baseboards, lampshades, picture frames, etc I mix about a tablespoon of fabric softener with 2 quarts of water and dissolve it completely.  Then I use a terry cloth rag and wring it out really well so it's damp.  Then I wipe down anything with a hard surface including leather and wooden furniture.  There's no film and the fabric softener repels dust.  It's great for blinds and less costly than dryer sheets.

Keep Dust from Settling. (mix 1 tablespoon of fabric softener wi/ 2 quarts of water & dissolve completely, then wring out a terry cloth rag really well & wipe down anything with a hard surface (including leather and wooden furniture).
