Jimmy Conners & Arthur Ashe, the only African American tennis player to win singles titles at Wimbledon, the US Open & the Australian Open. He was a major civil rights supporter, wrote for Time magazine, and commentated for ABC News. In the early 1980s, Ashe contracted HIV from a blood transfusion he received during heart bypass surgery. He died from AIDS-related pneumonia on February 6, 1993.
