Weeping Willow. We had one growing in our front yard & I spent many happy hours up on the lowest branch like this one.

Weeping willow tree in front of my dream house!

When I was young we had a weeping willow in the center if our backyard. It was my FAVORITE place to be. I climbed every inch of it, sat completely still in its branches & earned the trust of the birds enough to get them to eat seed from my still hands. It was my tree fort, my imaginary castle, my childhood go-to place. My father had it cut down when I was 13 & I was so sad I swore I would plant one in my yard some day. This spring is that someday... FINALLY!

I love willow trees! If I was a tree, that's the one I'd be. They give shade, love to be near water, and they bend with the wind instead of struggling against everything that comes against it. Yep, I'd be the willow!

joilieder: I love weeping willows and their canopies.  They’re the best to read or sleep under on a warm sunny day.  You feel like you’re in your own little world and safe from everything.  I know, I have an active imagination.
