Blackberries and Dumplings are amazing. If you want an old-timey recipe, here is one! Blackberries and Dumplings are a tradition in my family.

Blackberry Dumplings - 1 qt fresh or frozen blackberries - 1 cup water - 1 cup sugar - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp lemon extract - mix berries, water, sugar, salt & lemon - bring to boil, reduce heat - simmer 5 min. - Dumplings: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp salt - 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional) - 2/3 cup milk - Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg & milk - drop by tablespoons into berry mixture - cover tightly & simmer 15 minutes - serve hot

HAVE PRINTED RECIPE Yummy Peach Dumplings! Crescent Rolls – 2 Cans = Butter – 1 Stick = Sugar – 1 Cup = Cinnamon – Sprinkle desired amount (cover). Peaches – 1 Big Can = Water – 1 Cup Combine:: Butter, Sugar, Water in pan – Heat to boil Spread out Crescent Rolls and roll Peaches in them – Lay in 9x13 baking dish. Pour liquid mixture over top Sprinkle with Cinnamon Bake 375 (crescent roll directions for baking & time)
