I've probably read this book 15 or 20 times and it never fails to move me. Coe is a master at weaving multiple storylines together and the first time I read this I was left shocked, breathless and exhilarated by the final page. Jonathan Safran Foer is an awesome, Jewish writer. And he is married to Nicole Krauss. Can you say: literary jewish power-couple!?
recent read, although my cheapo trade paperback copy has a much less pretty cover. as is probably obvious, i like a clever cover that gives subtle hints to plot and narration. here the use of overlapping post-its is reminiscent of the impersonal, plural narration used in the book. plus it hints at the workplace as the central facet of the characters' lives, a relationship that likely built up one small bit, or post-it, at a time
