Quotation Marks Anchor Chart

2nd Grade Smarty-Arties taught by the Groovy Grandma!: quotation anchor chart

A great idea for teaching kids about the important place they play in their community. This helps to build a sense of identity and purpose. I would tweak it a little though so it doesn't look like they are the center of the universe

quotation anchor chart

Commas-book to go along with it: "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves"

This teacher had a class turn a "pigeon" book (children's picture book) by Mo Willems into prose-like dialogue. This seems like a really great way to have a class model a punctuation feature, as well as vivid verbs and capitalization rules. Each class could have a different picture book, so you could end up with LOTS of different anchor charts!

cute way to remind students how to use quotation marks

Quotation mark song... to the tune of the Ants Go Marching...Have to add your own hurrahs and final verse, "And we all use quotation marks when we talk"!

FREE - love this!!! Would use in late first and right on up through middle grades.

Use this rhyme when we have the dreaded quotation marks in our spelling dictation sentences....
