I am a magazine junkie! It’s true, perusing for decorating ideas, fashion updates, organizing tips, recipes . . . well, you get the idea. This is one of my favorite ways to relax and inspire a little creativity! I do want to quickly add, that we recycle and share our subscriptions when we are finished with them. I know I could read many of them online, but I enjoy the hands on of actually sitting and turning the pages. Maybe it’s because I am at the computer all day working. I am especially fond of the “Living” Magazines. We subscribe to Southern Living, Country liviing, Midwest Living, and Cottage Living. Today, I want to share a fabulous little idea I came across in Southern Living. The suggestion was to take the recipe cards from favorite cherished recipes, frame them, and hang them in the kitchen or breakfast room.  I especially like this idea, because of the memories of the wonderful women from whom we received these recipes that go along with the thoughts of these delectable taste treats. Those recipes that have been hand written by your grandmother, favorite aunt, best friend, or mother. The adorable ones that your child brought home from school printed in huge block letters. However, if you have an aversion to smudges and scribbles . . . you could print them on your computer using some of the beautiful fonts and colors available, print them on paper that coordinates with your walls, and then mat and frame them. I really do believe the possibilities are as great as our imaginations. You could even change them seasonally . . . your favorite Holloween Punch, Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes, or Christmas Cookies.   As I think about it, this would even make a lovely hostess gift for a friend. Handwrite one of your favorite recipes, or if you hate your handwriting go back to your computer. What a lovely personal gift . . . your favorite secret recipes, shared only with your favorite people, framed and ready to prepare. I feel like I have just started to come up with possibilities . . . what are your thoughts?
