Fleur de Sel Caramels (Caramel candy) (adapted from Barefoot Contessa cookbook) * Vegetable oil (I used Olive oil) * 1½ cups sugar * ¼ cup light corn syrup * 1 cup heavy cream * 5 tablespoons unsalted butter * 1 teaspoon fine fleur de sel (sea salt), plus extra for sprinkling * ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Salted Caramel Frosting- I used left over ice cream topping Carmel and it was perfect for the apple butter came I made. I imagine making your own caramel would be TO DIE FOR! But I'm not really good with boiling sugar... Getting correct temps... If you are go for it. If you are not this is a good alternative. I bet this combo would make a good cake pop, but there was none left to try!!
