    This is a math activity with gross motor, and some writing on a vertical surface which is great for beginning writers because it forces the correct wrist position and strengthens the correct muscles in the hand and arm.

    What a great way for a Math Centre in Kindergarten and beginning of grade one! Paint a file folder ocean blue, and then on the outside place an envelope with eyes and get your students to place the correct number of eyes (with the help of velcro) on to the octopus' arms!
