Early Virginia armchair, slat back with turned finials and arm supports, hickory and other mixed woods with oak split seat, turned feet, traces of early dark finish, attributed to Virginia, 18th century, 46-1/2 x 25 x 21 in. Good condition overall, loss at top of top slat, minor wear and losses to finials and feet, other cracks, normal wear and abrasions. Provenance: Found in Valley of Virginia; Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.
