Students who are missing an assignment on its due date fill out the yellow form and turn it in instead. When the assignment gets turned in, note the date and point deduction on the form, retain bottom portion for your records, and hand back the paper. Great for explaining grades at parent conferences!
One teacher says: "I have virtually eliminated having to remember who turned in assignments late by stamping every piece of paper I collect with the date before the kids turn it in. The bonus? I don't even have to do it - they like it so much that they've actually started doing more of their work on time so they can stamp their own. It's crazy."
This is great! If the student doesn't follow these, they could take one home with a note to the parent. The student could copy their rights and responsibilities for homework. Could use for handwriting practice or as a writing assignment at the beginning of the year. :)
