Day and Night in New York City Captured in Single Images. Check out this beautiful image of Coney Island in New York from photographer Stephen Wilkes, it's part of his series entitled Day to Night. He took hundreds of photographs throughout day (some shots took up to 15 hours), and blended around 50 images into one incredible large-format panoramic. #ConeyIsland

Maybe I'd be more impressed with the day-to-night blended photos if I hadn't recently been watching so much "Fringe".

Stephen Wilkes' Time Square from the series "Day to Night," blending hundreds of photographs taken over the course of a day at various locations.

"The midnight sun - Anda Bereezky." This is more of a photoshop compilation of a timelapse crop than a rendering but it's fricken' cool so I'm pinning it anyways. My first impression of this photo was that it's a time-lapse displaying the fluctuation of the celestial equator over the course of a year, which means each frame would be from a different month of the year, and then the photographer would have had to wait until the sun was centered in the next frame of the panorama in order to get the full landscape as it is... but turns out it was taken above the article circle. I guess the complexity of taking photo like this would vary depending on the latitude of the observer.

Stephen Wilkes...love this idea! several shots taken over a period of 1 day and merged together!

Wish this is how cities did look at night!

Snow at Night! This photo reminds me so much of my childhood in Jasper, Alberta. It was magic to walk to Midnight Mass, through the woods!
