Designed in Hackney: it’s week four in our celebration of design from the London borough of Hackney and today’s featured project is a modest glass extension to a house in Dalston by Shoreditch-based architects Platform 5.
Love most things here...punched out window/balcony. Love the double height window that separates. Love slats and fact it is not symmetrical. Love doors to outside space. Not sure of how dark the exterior is though
#houseaddition #houseextension / A large window wraps around one corner of this brickwork #extension to a Victorian house in London by local office Cousins and Cousins. Seen here: http://www.dezeen.com/2014/11/12/cousins-and-cousins-london-house-hackney-extension-glass-corner/
Hoxton House by David Mikhail Architects / the project involved reconfiguring the interior and connecting it to the small courtyard garden through the addition of a glazed facade with timber frame. Part of the living room floor was removed at the rear of the house to create a double-height kitchen and dining area in the basement. An extension of only one metre combined with a reworking of the interior, has transformed this Victorian house.
