This pin offers great reading strategies to hold the attention of your students! I am a reader, and I absolutely hate when I read a few pages and then look back and not remember a single thing I just read. This pin gives great ideas to stray away from that and helps from your students getting bored. I think using this is class is vital when it comes to teaching high school level children.
Reading Strategies (Older Kids) - This could be a good reference for what good readers do that could go in INs.
Teaching | Reading | Grade: Middle/High School | "Reading Strategies": Predicting, Questioning, Commenting, Rereading, Connecting, Change Pacing, Clarifying, Visualize | This can be made into a poster with fun colors, or the students can get this paper and either keep it whole to refer to over the semester, or they can cut out each of the little boxes to do a little activity with.

The 6 steps that should be used by students when reading a text. #readingstrategies #snoopy #sixstepstosuccess
Reading Strategies. I don't think there's any level of education where these rules don't apply.
Reading Strategy Sheet: This could easily be a supplement to Taberski's idea of a "Putting Our Strategies to Work" board. The board itself "encourages students to apply a repertoire of strategies to texts they're reading on their own on an as needed basis and share what they've done with the class" (283). The strategies on this poster correlate to the strategies suggested on the strategy board. The straightforward definitions can be used as a reliable resource to support learning.

Project Tic-Tac-Toe for Novel Units. Would be great for stations. To make this work for quarterly book project, have kids complete a line once a week, but keep track of which "rows" they've done using a printable with multiple images of the board (6 total) Ex: Once they've used the middle down, they can't use it again...Works similar to the "Frank Files" created with Doyle.
