Attic dust flaked off the weathered Bible as the young boy carefully pried it open, breathing in the musty scent of old pages. Old pictures poured from the pages, memories of years long past, smiling faces of young people he knew now to be wrinkled with age. Everything he wanted to know was at his fingertips.

Bibles falling apart are usually owned by people who aren't !

We have a number of old Bibles. I wrapped a length of lace around each. I placed a croched small table cloth of Mother's in a wood box. I added the Bibles. The box sets on a bench at the end of our bed. I love it!

Still trying to read thru the whole Bible. Getting closer to finishing now. Broke it up into 3 parts - Old Testament, New Testament and then daily reading sections of Proverbs (whatever day it is I'll read that chapter as that book has 31 chapters) and a Psalm a day. Finished with New but still working thru the Old Testament. Time well spent.

This Bible will always remind me of one of the most influential women in my life. Thank you, Nadeena Power, for speaking so much truth to me over the years.

Books of the Bible: there is Life in these names! Stay here this year :-)

“Honestly, I cannot understand what people mean when they talk about the freedom of the human will. I have a feeling ..that I will something or other; but what relation this has with freedom I cannot understand at all. ..how can I connect this up with the idea of freedom? What is behind the act of willing to light the pipe? Another act of willing? Schopenhauer once said: Man can do what he will but he cannot will what he wills.” ― Albert Einstein
