Yup! I hate that stupid pain scale. I have said it is a 10 before and the docs just laughed at me saying I would be dying if it were that bad. How rude!

unfortunately if you don't suffer you'll never understand. 3 years of constant, unrelenting, horrid back pain. I heard every one of these. Chronic pain sucks. It is terrifying. Invasive, open back surgery has brought me a long, long way, thankfully. Be compassionate and kind. Pain is a battle every minute of every day for some people. Pain you cannot possibly even begin to imagine.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome / chronic illnesses / chronic pain

Being in pain makes anyone crabby, especially those of us with chronic pain, hence the low stupidity tolerance level as well.

This was me, for so many years. I can't believe that I can say that it is no longer me. However, the exhaustion of recovery, the intense work that we do sometimes, just to get through a day. I wish people knew just how hard, how terrribly hard it is.

No matter how often I say this very thing, despite my diagnosis, doctors love to tell me I'd feel better if only I took this little pill. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes chronic pain, fatigue, poor scarring, bruising, hypermobility, frequent dislocations, gastrointestinal issues, early onset osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, autonomic system dysfunction and many other symptoms and comorbid conditions. There is no treatment or cure.

Walk a day in my Fibro/BiPolar shoes & you'd run to the nearest mental health hospital.

Yep- and most have no idea how intense the struggles because of grinning and bearing it (often alone).
