Clearing Storm, Glencoe, Scotland. One of the most beautiful places on earth, and the scene of one of the most notorious massacres in the history of Scotland when, in1692, the supporters of William of Orange ( known as King Billy in Scotland ) fell upon the sleeping McDonalds who had invited them as guests into their homes. All the McDonald men under seventy were killed ( almost 40 in all ) and another 40 women and children died of exposure after their homes were burned to the ground.
