Clean stove's exhaust fan filter. Boil water, add 1/2c. baking soda (a little at a time - it bubbles over). Soak for 15 minutes. Rinse well with hot water. This works really really well. My filter didn't fit into a stockpot so I used a roasting pan.

This really works, amazing! My mother tried it with success and then told me, so I tried it too! :-) Great way to clean Oven Top Filters-- Boil a big pot of water, add a half cup of baking soda (but only one tablespoon at a time - it fizzes). Drop the filter in and watch the grease slide off. Rinse, repeat if desired (I scrubbed gently in some spots).
