Crockpot Orange Chicken: Ingredients: • boneless chicken breasts, chopped into small chunks • 1/3 cup flour • olive oil • 1/2 T salt • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar • 3 T ketchup • 6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate (thaw or throw it in the microwave for 45 seconds) • 4 T brown sugar In a bowl, mix the orange juice, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, and ketchup. Pour the flour in a small bowl. Cover the chicken breast chunks in flour and shake off the excess. Pour a small amount of olive oil in a skillet and brown the flour-covered chicken. The chicken doesn't need to be fully cooked since it's going in the crock pot. After the chicken is done cooking, pour the pieces into the crock pot. Then cover the chicken with your sauce mixture and give the pot a stir. Cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2-3. Serve over rice and even add veggies if you want a healthier meal. ~~~ Eldest twin, Colin, will love me forever after finding this recipe!~~~

I tried this and for some reason it was so bitter from the orange juice? I cooked it exactly as the recipe said but maybe my crock pot got too hot b/c it was so bitter from the citrus? Such a bummer as I really was looking forward to it. If you try it, just don't let it cook too long and maybe it will be great!

Amy, I wonder if you used an orange juice with pulp in it--that will make it bitter.

Going to try this but modified. I don't have Herbs De Provence so I'm not sure what I will rub it with. I don't have red peppers so I'll layer the bottom with onion and carrots and stuff the bird with apples, carrots and onion. We'll see how it tastes.

Crock pot orange chicken. I wonder if I could use coconut flour instead of regular flour to bread? And honey instead of brown sugar for the sauce. UPDATE: the flavor was excellent, and it worked very well to dredge in coconut flour; however, the breading mostly fell off while cooking into the sauce, making for an oddly textured sauce. Next time if I want to make it gluten-free, I will just not bread it at all. I learned that breading in coc. flour would be a good way to do nuggets though!

Best crock pot pin I have ever seen!!! Can't wait to try 6 of these!!! They look easy and delicious!!!
