Operating Room: Brain Surgery

A surgical technician cuts suturing line during a shoulder surgery, June 26, at Fort Eustis, Va. The new operating room in McDonald Army Health Center provides more room for surgeons and staff to move around, giving them space to perform delicate surgeries.

The Nebraska Medical Center operating room (OR) departments enhanced their internal recycling program by collection and recycling "blue wrap," a disposable blue sterile wrap used in the sterilization and covering of surgical instruments prior to procedures. To celebrate the kick off of the initiative, they hosted a recycled blue wrap costume contest.
