Holi Color Festival - Holi is a festival in India celebrating the arrival of spring, that has been celebrated since ancient times. Holi is a time to rejoice in the colors and liveliness of spring. Holi is spread out over two days, beginning with a public bonfire. Everyone gathers in the street for the event and throw colored powders and water on friends and family, giving the holiday it's common name "The Festival of Colors" If I could experience one thing before I die, it'd be this.

So sad this didn't happen while we were there....oh well I'll plan my next Ireland trip around it :)

The colorful festival of Holi is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which comes in February end or early March. Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other 'Happy Holi'

Hmmm that sounds NICE, but the people in 2nd are more often than a whole lot nicer!

But it has to be a real ball in order to count! With costumes and food and music and dancing and legit masks!!!
