Wow! I wish I had the time and money to do this. Stand up figures for 150 bucks at Spirit Halloween is just crazy!

It wouldn't be hard to make them yourself. Use the cheap Halloween masks for the front of the face and paper mâché over it. Then you could buy PCV pipe and make these yourself. Time consuming.....but it would be a fun project for you and your kids to do together. Quality Time!!!!

Do you you think it might be because they have motors in them? Probably cheaper without them...

The ones you buy at Halloween City or others like it don't have motors, they're little boxes that make noise when you walk by it which you can buy there or WalMart for $15. Still cheaper to make your own.

Buy PVC & fittings at your local Lowes or Home Depot. I use these motors for my moving Halloween props:

We started doing PVC stand up figures 3 years ago. We are up to about 20. We add a few a year that way it isn't a big cost. I don't do the head and hands like the one in this one. I buy masks when they go on sale and save old throw out clothes through the year. I but the styrofoam "wig heads" for a couple bucks and put the old clothes and the mask on the head. I think the link I used to learn how to make them is in my Halloween pins.

Halloween is a great time for decorating. Many people spend days, not to mention a small fortune, making their homes look scary and fun. The truth is that you don’t really have to spend a fortune on Halloween decor.
