    Graceland Memphis Tennessee, was originally was just a farmhouse built in the early 1860s on 500 acres in Whitehaven by publisher S.E. Toof of "Memphis Daily Appeal" or The Memphis newspaper "Commercial Appeal" The home was named after Mr Toof's daughter Grace. The present Mansion was built in 1939 by Dr. Thomas and wife Ruth Moore Thomas, niece of Grace Toof.

Memphis Tennessee--This is the home of Elvis Presley. If you are ever in Memphis you have to go and see his home. It was a neat experience seeing some of his outfits he wore on stage and getting a look inside the home of a legend.

Elvis' home in Memphis still continues to be one of the best tourist attractions on the planet. When the family opened the mansion to the public many consultants believed it would be short lived. Graceland draws 600,000 visitors a year. Elvis is always in the top 5 annual Forbes list of top earning dead celebrities. The tour is fan-tastic.

Graceland. It's in a TERRIBLE part of town but the property & exterior are so beautiful. (Um, certain rooms inside, not so much!)
